The following is a list of eleven categories of my personal highs (and lows) of 2011. In no particular order…
1. Best New TV Show(s):
Once Upon A Time
Downton Abbey (Season one is available to watch on PBS if you haven’t seen it yet, but you should hurry, it’s not available after the 1st. Season 2 starts Jan. 8 here in the US.)
2. Best Book(s):
I’ve read a lot the past few months but these two stick out in my mind,
Divergent, yes, I actually like it better than Hunger Games.
The History of Love
3. Best Food:
Ethiopian food, had it in Chicago, delicious and totally new to us. Everything comes out to you on a big platter and you eat it by tearing bits of bread and grabbing the food with it.Try it if you can!
Zach and I learned to make Chicken Tikka Masala for ourselves using this recipe and it’s awesome!
4. Best Music:
Ceremonials, Florence and the Machine
This song has become kind of a personal anthem. It’s just so good.
Barton Hollow, The Civil Wars. I love their sound.
5. Best Movies:
British: The King’s Speech, if you haven’t seen it yet you should.
Hindi: Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Funny, inspirational, and quite literally beautiful.
American: I didn’t see that many, and I wouldn’t call these favorites but they were all good movies:
6. Favorite Trip:
I didn’t take many trips this year, but we went to Chicago for our honeymoon and I love the city! The museums, the L, the buildings, all of it. We had a fantastic time. Plus it was nice to go in June from Texas (in the 90s and 100s) to Chicago (in the 50s and 60s).
7. Biggest Annoyance:
Rick Perry running for President. I’ve already covered that.
9. Biggest New Find of Awesomeness/Time Waster: I think almost everyone can agree, Pinterest.
10. Biggest Change and Good Memory: Getting married and the wedding itself. No matter what our situation I have never for one minute wanted to change the fact that I married Zach. And our wedding went beautifully and was so much fun! It was great to see everyone and I think everyone had a good time. At the end of the day that’s all you can ask for.
11. Biggest Blessing of 2011: Our Family, both Zach’s and mine. Nothing I say could describe the love and importance they share in our lives.
What are your Eleven?
You are at the top of my list. Love seeing the woman you've become. Can't wait to see what's next in your and Zach's lives. I've seen you through a lot of these highs and lows this years. I've also seen you pull your self up "by your boots straps" and rise to meet your challenges. Headstrong is good. :)
